With coach Gibson doing the job he is doing WVU needs to put the pieces back together it previously had on the offensive staff. I would try and get both Dawson and Spavital back.
Am I the only person who hopes WVU brings back Coach Dawson?

Probably not, but I'm not among them.
I think it would help a lot more to bring in fresh blood with new (hopefully better) ideas than a retread whose contributions while here were not readily apparent and failed in his only foray outside the Holgorsen circle.
If we do go the retread route, I would rather have Spavital because he might at least be able to recruit better.
As for who would get replaced. If it's not DeForest, Dana ain't even really trying.

Sure was. I was much more impressed with Luck's assistant coach hires than Holgorsen's...Dawson & Spavital...there is a reason both got canned.

I think the reason is the air raid ain't getting it anymore. Our offense was successful when we ran the ball with big lineman and standard run blocking. Defenses catching up to that offense.Dawson & Spavital...there is a reason both got canned.
What position would he coach? Dana isn't giving up his play calling duties. Maybe as a QB coach? But then we'd have to replace someone currently on staff. DeForrest maybe. But I think DeForrest is a better recruiter than either Spavital or Dawson. So why replace one coach with no clear cut job description with another who is a worse recruiter?
