Absolutely no way, no excuse for Xavier to be #2 over us.

We play in the #1 conference, many great wins, very few to almost no bad losses. Lot of road/neutral court wins.

Death, taxes, WVU getting a worse seed. Never fails.

Reminds me of 2010 when we came into BE Tournament on fire especially after winning at Villanova, then go on to win the Tournament and somehow, we get the 4th #2 seed when in reality, we should have been a #1 seed.

How did Oklahoma get a 2 seed over us? Finished higher in conference and conference tournament. Also just beat them. Oh, Buddy Hield................gotta make sure the "PTPs as Vitale like to call them" get easier path. I would love to be in that bracket instead of the Bracket of Death which we are in.

No biggie.

Doesn't matter...would be cool to embarrass Xavier....regardless we have to win all the games we play.

I'm ok with Xavier being a 2. I'm not ok with Oklahoma being a 2 especially over WVU

I don't like Notre Dame as #11 seed. Not even sure how Pitt got a higher seed at #10. ND should have been a 10 if anything, with Pitt as 11. Almost every projected bracket I've seen in recent days had Pitt at #11. Which is why I wouldn't be mad with #3 seed. But nope, we get #3 seed without Pitt.

Stephen F Austin, Notre Dame, Pitt, UNC, Kansas, Michigan State.... That's our road to the National Championship... I like the thought of beating those traditional powerhouses, along with ND and Pitt, in the same tournament, and a 4th meeting with Kansas, in route to our first NC in 75 years. I'm sure there would be ways to write it up better, but that sounds pretty damn good to me. :)

Pretty sure Xavier has a higher RPI than us.
It's close, but still, they go by top 50 W-L sometimes, and we have played more games against top 50, won more games vs. top 50 and top 25, and lost only a couple more than Xavier, plus our worst loss is Florida, Xavier has 2 losses worse than that. I think we should have gotten the 2 seed over them, but since we're in the same bracket - It may be fair to assume that we were the first 3 seed and they were the last 2 seed, and had the roles been reversed, we would still be playing Xavier in the 3rd round barring any upsets.

Yeah no doubt. Agreed. Just wrote in other thread. They 25 wins. Us 26. Finished second in regular season & tourney. Beat OU 48 hours ago. They get a 2 & start in Okla City. I'm mean wow.

Our resume is stronger than Xav too I believe. Top 50 wins category. but we have a chance to take care of them head to head.

I'll post this from what another WVU poster posted on another message board. I think it's pretty clear who should be the #2 seed.

Xavier:
RPI - 7
SOS - 49
Opp SOS - 23
Best Win - Villanova (4)
Worst loss - Georgetown (106)
Sub 100 losses - Georgetown (106), @Creighton
Avg RPI of losses - 51
Top 50 Wins - USC (48), Dayton (20), Cinci (44), Seton Hall (22), @Providence (38), Providence (38)

WVU:
RPI - 10
SOS - 24
Opp SOS - 3
Best Win - Kansas (1)
Worst Loss - @Flordia (53)
Sub 100 losses - none
Avg RPI of losses - 15
Top 50 wins - SDSU (42), Kansas (1), @Texas Tech (34), @Iowa State (21), Baylor (25), Iowa State (21), Texas Tech (34), @Baylor (25), Oklahoma (6)

Better wins, more Top 50 wins, more Top 100 wins, no bad losses, played a tougher schedule, higher margin of victory

Agreed, x being a 2 over us is laughable

Ah, come on. They beat us twice and we won on a miracle wave-off. I'm not mad that they're at 2.

And you are forgetting that we were ahead of them in the regular season Big 12......conveniently. Who cares, they beat us twice. We finished ahead of them, beat them in the tourney.....

I like our position. If anything they would've flipped us and Xavier, which wouldn't have made much difference. What I really like is that UNC/UK will have 2 days to prep for us.

Doesn't matter too much bout being the 3 seed other than just being slighted. We'd just flip flop with Xavier and still be in same bracket. They always put us with Kentucky though. That's annoying. Notre dame is a tough second round game- they're awfully good for a 6 seed. team needs to concentrate on SFA. Huggs will have the kids ready.

The seed # is irrelevant. As a 2 or 3 we get an outmatched mid major in round 1 and either a fringe top 25 or bubble team in round 2. Sweet 16 we likely draw X anyways.

I like our draw. We get X as our probable sweet 16 matchup opposed to Michigan State or Villanova as potential alternates, and an over seeded ND team or a team playing their 3rd game in 5 days on top of a plane ride in round 2. Anything less than Elite 8 should be viewed as disappointing.

Oklahoma has a better record. They did not lose a non conference game and we lost two.

xavier has enough height, particularly at guard, to throw over the press. always tough in the tournament. it will be a tough game.

The only way to get us in Brooklyn and Philadelphia was via the 3 seed. OU in ok city is a money grab. The only thing I don't like is ND in NYC where there are a million Irish and the refs will call a hundred fouls on us.

Just like 2010, We play better with a chip on our shoulder. If they give us a two we think we've arrived. It's fine. I'm just worried about ND refs.

I am not sure it is that relevant. Based on seeding, both teams would still have ended up exactly in the same place had they switched.

Miracle wave-ff? Ok, so since you're going there. how about the no call when Heild pushed Paige to the floor in order to get the needed separation and try the shot?

Not really a miracle wave off .... The game was over when he shot it. Imo a miracle wave off would have been he shot the ball prior to the clock expiring and but they reversed the call any way. Regardless, yes OU was fortunate to have their AD chairing the committee... But we have a good path to the elite 8 I trust hugs will have them ready

Yea, not to mention the "miracle wave off" negated a "miracle shot". We deserved to win, we had the lead to the point where they needed an extremely low percentage shot to fall in order to win, if it counted it wouldnt have reflected who played the better 40 minutes.
