This basketball season was truly fun. We did very well and achieved much greater heights than I would have thought before the season started. I enjoyed our style of play with the press and our rotation of players with all contributing at different points and in different situations.
Last night we played against arguably the best college basketball team that money can buy. We got destroyed. However, we did not give up and played hard throughout. To have won that game, we would have had to play our best and them their worst. Last night we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with our shots. I think the last stat I saw was we shot 14% from the field. Hard to win against anyone shooting like that. I thought the refs called it tight from the get go, another fact that put in a world of hurt from early on.
Good news is, we return some good players and I expect to see a good team next year also. Despite the loss last night, over the past decade we are still among the nations best programs. I hope Huggins stays here and coaches as long as he can walk the sideline.
