Nearly 9,000 showed up for a 3-game series with Butler at a time when the team was 18-12, not exactly a Kentucky basketball kind of run.

Maybe Oliver Luck was onto something. That 3,000 a game. The crowd usually is more in the 100s than the 1,000s.

We'll see how this goes, but it's a good home start for the new baseball stadium.

The online streaming of some of the games has to be helping to generate interest. Between the online games and those on Fox I've seen more games this season than in the last 40 years combined.

Another benefit of having Oliver Luck as the AD. He came at a critical time in WVU history.

I think your 9000 figure is overstated. From what I understand, it should be approximately 7000 (a record for a 3 game series in Morgantown). Friday night 3150, Saturday afternoon 2150 and yesterday afternoon 1700 (all rounded). But more to your point, it is a good start. I attended yesterday's game and really enjoyed it. Hopefully fans will continue to show up, it's a good time and cheap....$7 and $8 seats which cost less than going to a movie. Just wish I lived a little closer to Morgantown.

The stadium looks great and the live streaming of games by IMG will generate a lot of interest in the baseball program. Penn State and Oklahoma should draw big crowds.

Luck did so many amazing things for WVU and the new stadium is just another example.
