IMO, Neal Brown is a product of bad timing. Every successful HC has their junkyarddog DC coach. The guy that gives the program balls and strikes fear into his players that ultimately creates respect and hard work. Frank Beamer had Bud Foster. Don Nehlen had Bill Krelovich (sp?), Steve Dunlap, and Doc Holliday. Rich Rod had Rick Trickett and Mike Barwis. Neal Brown had Vic Koenning and he was legit. Our pussy WVU liberal administration decided to side with the trouble maker player from Charleston and fired Koenning instead. This was strike 1. Then the following season, the landmark SCOTUS decision to allow the NIL and immediate transfer portal. Strike 2 and 3. I don’t care who you are, your entire idea of how to build and maintain a program immediately changed overnight. Unless you’re a blueblood, everything you knew about recruiting has now changed. And now, you’re recruiting your current players all 4 years so they don’t leave. None of it has been fair. And for all the insults and names of Kneel Clown and Shame Lyings, shame on you guys. These are good guys. Maybe a change is necessary, I agree. But let’s give them some respect.
