800K NIL deal for K State to Miami BB transfer

You're absolutely right. Some things definitely need to change. The 3 and out rule is probably just the first of many.

A "minor league" for football could and should be established. Works for everything else, why not for the NFL.

Makes college football like what baseball, basketball, soccer, and the rest were always meant to be - amateur athletics by true student athletes.

The only problem I see with what you wrote is really towards the end. I could see a team like Florida who can't out-recruit Bama but decides to simply outspend them. Brings in a "mercenary" team of former NFL career backups for example to come in, spend a semester, and win a national championship, which would be what I could easily see happening if allowing former pros to come to college. Even though they're all backups, they're still much more mature, stronger, faster, and have a much smaller learning curve than the typical true college athlete- even the ones at Bama. Personally, I wouldn't care about it other than the fact it would be a true safety issue. Same thing basically as allowing high school players to play midget or junior high ball.
The biggest reason there probably isn't a minor league system in football is cost. The blue bloods of college football are like a defacto minor league system that is costing NFL owners basically nothing. If they did set something up like MLB or NHL they would have to pay these guys and also foot the bill for their development. Can't see them doing that when someone else is doing it for you. The only real advantage they would get in a minor league system is they would own the rights to the players.

Using the appropriate words when the evidence points in a direction is never a bad thing.

There are CLEARLY people incentivized with an agenda on this site. Shills.

As far as minor leagues, that so many start up football leagues are trying to get going probably indicates that those owners are aware of the changes coming in college and are preparing another outlet for those who may choose to bypass the play for others benefit only system. Those could become feeder systems for NFL teams.

Miami Hurricanes guard Isaiah Wong will enter the transfer portal on Friday if his name, image and likeness (NIL) compensation isn't increased, his NIL agent, Adam Papas of NEXT Sports Agency, told ESPN on Thursday.

"If Isaiah and his family don't feel that the NIL number meets their expectations they will be entering the transfer portal tomorrow, while maintaining his eligibility in the NBA draft and going through the draft process," Papas said.

Exactly my point. It's a corrupt system even if it wasn't intentionally set up that way. 18 year old athletes who want to try for the NFL have no real option outside of the NCAA. The NFL has no logical reason to create that alternative when a well functioning farm system is already in place at no cost to them. So athletes who have no desire to be students, but do have a desire to be a professional football player are forced into the NCAA charade of student athletes.

Schools should not be admitting anyone not truly pursuing a degree. Professional athletes is not a degree track except for those who cant even speak proper English.

1st off Buck he stated very clearly that the Big 10 and Sec would further separate from the pack. Teams in those conferences are not going to leave. They may not be entirely happy but they are in a stable conference making more money then they could ever imagine in the Big 12, Pac 12 or Acc. Its not rocket science to figure out which teams he is referring to. If wvu or any other school were offered an invitation to the Sec or Big 10 they would dump their old conference asap.
Several, several, several teams would leave those conference in a hearbeat ND AD mentioned. Examples:

PAC 12 = USC, Oregon, Oregon St, ASU and AZ are all ready to jump when the money maker USC bounces.

ACC=Any team would leave for an Invite to the BIG or SEC. Clemson and FSU want out.

SEC = Nobody

Big 12 = Any team would leave for BIG or SEC

BIG = Nebraska would leave for a merged Pac12 and Big 12 if USC is involved.

And you know all this...how?

Everybody outside of the Big 10 and Sec probably wants out, Nebraska would not leave the big 10 for a merged Big 12 and Pac 12. The money still wouldn't equal that of the Big 10. The next seismic shift will probably be 10 years from now when the next round of negotiations are up.
