6 and counting top ten teams lose since last ranking

hmm not really sure or care much outside of the standings & NCAA seeding for WVU, but I would vote 21-4 Kansas at No. 1 after beating 10 WV and winning at 3 OU in the same week. Tied for 1st in top conference & probably only team all season to notch a top 10 home win and top 3 road win in the same week.

Still am having a hard time making any case for Maryland as a top 1-3 billing since the preseason. Terps beat then 3 Iowa at home and then 18 Purdue at home. That's about it.

Rest of schedule is littered with a bevy of unranked opponents & 4 losses including Saturday's double digit home loss to Wisconsin. Resume is entering the area of a 5-6 seed by merit. I count resume results ahead of paper talent & media adoration of Trimble & Stone.

Nothing separates 1 - 10. They're all about the same. We just need to avoid a team with good height and good guards in the tournament. There are a few of them.

Also, Maryland is pretty good - which is good enough to win the whole thing this year.

I guess anyone can get hot at the right time, but MD just lost at Minnesota who had 6 wins entering the game. Got to be one of the most egregious losses of the season the committee should take note of.

We're not perfect either, but at least WV has not fallen to a team with 6 wins.

I guess Maryland is pretty good.
But I haven't been impressed with them the few times I have watched them since we beat them.

They may have talent.
I just don't think they are a Top Ten TEAM.

not sure why maryland is getting so much attention in this thread. if you want to call out a hugely over-ranked team, look no further than..

Iowa

i've watched them in-person and if they make it past the 2nd weekend, i'll eat my shoes

This is one of the craziest years I can remember for college basketball. Usually there are 2 or 3 teams that are on another level from everyone else and that just isn't the case this year. This is why I like WVU's chances as good as anybody because they have already proven if they play their A game they can beat anybody. And facing teams in the dance for the first time gives WVU an advantage. Just get a high seed and catch lighting in a bottle and WVU can most definitely make a Final Four.
