32 Years Ago Today Where Were You????

I was 11 and was at the BC game that year. I remember Pat Randolph running in for td like it was yesterday. Must have been watching on Tv.

45 yard line. Row 18. My brother had an in to get prime seats at the time. Having grown up in Morgantown watching all those losses since 1960, it was indeed a happy moment. I still have a copy of Sunday's paper in my collection.

I was watching the game on TV with my father-in-law, who, back in the day played for Penn State!

Home side, upper deck, about 10 rows up. When Rich Rod intercepted the pass to seal the deal, I was in the end zone.

I was at home watching the game on television with the sound turned down and the radio turned up so I could listen to Jack Fleming call the game. His pre-game set up has to be one of the all time greats. For those who missed it or are too young to have seen it click on the play button.-

....in a bar on Wisconsin Ave in DC with an ex (who didn't get the whole Mountaineer thing) & my fellow road warrior who was Mountaineer ro the core...PSU guy sittin' @ the bar runnin' his mouth all night...the bar had these helmet-style bowls they put bar chips in, one a PSU helmet...PSU guy brings it over to our table & sets it down with some BS comment....end of game, I take it back, & tell him that "next time, bring two...one to shit in, one to cover it up with"....good times!..

This brings back a lot of emotion. We lost every year, year after year! It was a given. It bred in me a contempt and hatred for that school that few can match. (maybe Vernon) Pitt pales in comparison. The butt stomping by Major and Company was especially sweet too!

My 1st game at Old Mountaineer Field was a 14-14 tie with PSU. Little did I know I'd go thru the rest of the '50s all of '60s, and '70s and into the '80s before I saw a win.

in 84 I was in 9th grade. Watched at home w my dad a WVU grad too. He was so happy

88 game I was a student in student section. I think I slept 2 hrs nite before. Frat row/high st and sunny side were rocking fri nite into sat.
Major's run was so unforgettable - stadium just erupted. I know i went from oh sh@:t , he went the wrong way and missed the handoff!- to seeing him juke those guys- and jumping up and down screaming my head off. there were so many people jammed in the student section that day. I'd say most packed I've ever seen student section were 88 vs psu and 93 vs Miami.

I was also sitting in the grass above the north end zone, nearest the student section. I can still see Pat Randolph coming straight at me.

I was on the 50 yard line in the student section. I was 10yo. Life changing experience in a lot of ways

35 yard line,
like 30+ rows up
press box side,
lower section

Section 121 down about 10 rows from the from the field. My dad did not go since it was a night game and his night vision for walking back to the car would have been problematic. Took a friend from Helvetia. I kissed an old lady behind me when it was over.

Wow - just realized that I was 31 at the time and I am more than twice that age.
