262 Mountaineers Named to Fall Big 12 Honor Roll
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 20, 2016) -- The Big 12 Conference released its 2015 Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll with a total of 262 West Virginia University student-athletes making the list. The conference recognizes all student-athletes at its member institutions during each semester with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Of the 262 WVU student-athletes recognized by the Big 12 for their academic excellence, 51 registered a GPA of 4.0 in the spring semester.
The 51 Mountaineers named to the list with a perfect 4.0 GPA in the semester include: Justin Fox, Michael Grove (baseball); Olivia Seggie (women’s basketball); Justin Arndt, Alec Shriner (football); Jaida Lawrence (gymnastics); Will Anti, Michael Bamsey, Ziva Dvorsak, Elizabeth Gratz, Ginny Thrasher (rifle); Anna Cokeley, Emily Deming, Carly Ledbetter (rowing); Zak Leedom, Austin Stout (men’s soccer); Carly Black, Laurel Carpenter, Ali Connelly, Amanda Hill, Easther Mayi Kith, Bianca St. Georges, Kailey Utley (women’s soccer); Christopher Brill (men’s swimming & diving); Marah Bieger, Julia Calcut, Amelie Currat, Katie Murto, Madelyn Woods, Jenelle Zee (women’s swimming & diving); Hailey Barrett, Ikttesh Chahal, Kaja Mrgole, Abigail Rosiello (women’s tennis); Amy Cashin, Anna French, Jordan Hess, Olivia Hill, Corinne Kule, Allison Lasnicki, Shamoya McNeil, Peyton Panger, Andrea Pettit, Sydney Scott, Krista-Gay Taylor, Kelly Williams (women’s track and cross country); Hannah Shreve (volleyball); and William Jenkins, Caleb Mariakis, Ty Millward, Tim Wheeling (wrestling).
The cross country/track teams and football teams led all Mountaineer athletic teams with 32 and 29 honorees, respectively, on the honor roll. Other total student-athletes on the honor roll include women’s swimming & diving (23), rowing (21), women’s soccer (21), baseball (19), wrestling (19), men’s swimming & diving (19), men’s soccer (19), gymnastics (15), tennis (11), rifle (9), women’s basketball (9), volleyball (8), golf (5) and men’s basketball (3).
Twenty West Virginia student-athletes graduated in December with undergraduate degrees.

More than 3,500 student-athletes each semester have been named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in the Conference’s 19-year tenure.
