Union (Ky.) Cooper 2025 pass rusher Austin Alexander told me that he had been talking to West Virginia for around a month but received the news that he was going to get a scholarship offer after his first game. Alexander has yet to visit campus but he does have a tie in the sense that his close friend and trainer is Will Clarke. He has been in contact with defensive line coach AJ Jackson and defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley and the coaches want him as a pass rusher given his size, speed and motor. He has visited a number of places so far but is hoping to knock Morgantown off that list as well. Some schools that stick out are Clemson, Kentucky, North Carolina, Illinois and Purdue given his ties to the coaches at each stop but he hasn't narrowed down any lists yet. Alexander is looking for a place where he can fit in and has strong ties to the coaches.
