MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia finalized its 2017 nonconference football schedule by adding a home game against FCS member Delaware State for Sept. 16.

Athletics director Shane Lyons announced the Week 3 matchup, which follows a neutral-site opener against Virginia Tech in Landover, Md., and a home date against East Carolina.

Delaware State, a Historically Black College from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, made its only FCS playoff appearance in 2007 and has posted a 29-60 record since. Over the past two seasons the Hornets have dropped 20 of 23 games.
