#10 in Coaches Poll

Cool, that's a little higher than I thought we'd rise. I'm not superstitious, so I'll ask.

If we win these 2, how high will be next week? The higher you get, the harder it is to pass teams, but could we be top5?

1 and 2 would likely move back to about 5 and 6........ We might leap SMU, but I don't think we'd move up, but would rather force a reshuffle of the already-existing top 10.

Would need 2 wins and Miami to lose to UVA for us to safely crack the top 10, IMO....Nova losing @Georgetown would definitely help. Xavier and UNC have cake walks for another week so they are fine...

If we win both this week we could conceivably be 1 or 2. We would be 16-1 and will have topped a near unanimous #1, and #2 on the heels of that epic game they just played (meaning both team's hype is at an all time high). I would say if Maryland and Michigan State lost we would have a real case.

That said, and I know you're not expecting it, but I would project a 5% chance tops of us winning both, and even if we did, there is an absolute certainty of us coming back down to Earth next week, we simply are not that good to sustain the level of play required to beat both and not have a letdown, and in fact I think it would be a terrible omen for our March chances because it will probably mean we peaked early.

Ill take the KU game and any type of loss at OU or vice versa

Another question. IF we beat OU, will that make for the best back to back regular season wins ever?

I know we beat UK then #1 UNC in the Kentucky Invitational in 57-58, and then rose to #1 in the polls, but UK was apparently "only" #5 at the time. I can't think of any other back to backs quite at that level.

It would have to be... until now, I'd say the best week of wins for WVU basketball in the modern basketball era would be 2011, with wins over #16 UConn on a Wed. and #11 UofL on Senior Night.
