So, moving forward, what is the current state of WVU’s roster? Is it rich with talent or is it filled with a bunch of suspect players? Just want to make sure we establish what the baseline is before we bring in a new coach…..
...... I try to watch it in my office on my television but don't always get to. I'm watching today's replay on one of the ESPN channels. He just pissed all over the U's coaching staff for that bonehead decision. And he's not wrong. His viewpoint is this kind of non cerebral decision making is rampant in college football. Pat said he could make a 7-hour reel of these kinds of mistakes.
We made so many mistakes last night. However, if you want to point to one thing that lost this game (other than the last 12 seconds). We absolutely forgot how to tackle. We must have stopped working on tackling over the last week because our tackling was horrible last night. We were trying to tackle high and and getting destroyed. Tackling was our strong point the last few weeks but, last night it cost us.
And now in year 5, ….not 1 thing, ……… NOT ONE, occurred in last night’s ballgame that was even remotely surprising. That’s how you get to the midpoint in year 5 with a 26-27 record.
But the players do. They are coached to knock the ball down and coached to hand the ball to the official after the score. Instead we tried to catch it and we acted like fools after a TD. They are coached every Friday on Hail Marys to bat the ball down.
