Temple (vs. SMU)

Slow night, so I watched a handful of plays then switched the channel.

However, I noticed there couldn't possibly be more than 1000-1500 folks in the stadium....which, begs the question. How the hell do they fund a football program with such lack of interest (for years on end)? I mean, salaries, scholarships, equipment, the facility usage, etc, etc, etc....what keeps a mess like that going?

Rich Rodriguez also to be immortalized in Milan Puskar Stadium.

The first 1,000 people in attendance will be given free colored wristbands and the stadium will be be turned into the Roman Colosseum where Rich will single-handedly defeat the Detroit Lions (not a hard task, hey Vernon?) as Rita rides around the stadium in a leopard-spotted Jeep Gladiator.

A good time will be had by all and you will be entertained.

Soccer question…

I don’t know anything about soccer and I’m not ashamed to admit I am now on the bandwagon, but during the telecast last night, they kept talking about “points” in the standings, and how many points WVU would get for beating Marshall and how many UCF would get for winning last night.

Do they not just go by your record like in football? Like if Marshall has the best record on the year, they would be seeded #1 in the tournament or whatever? Where does the points thing come from?
