A great article in Steeler Digest re: Zach

Some excerpts:

* "Zach Frazier has an innate ability to move, displace and bury defenders. He's been an elite finisher already and gets my vote for best rookie OL in the league through three weeks." -- Brandon Thorn, OL Masterminds.

* "It may soon be time to stop calling Zach Frazier a 'future Pro Bowler' because he very well may just make it as a rookie. Dude is an absolute mauler in the run game." -- Mike Kennedy, Pro Football Focus.

* "Said it at the time, saying it again, BEST CENTER IN THE DRAFT!" -- Duke Manyweather, OL Masterminds.

* "How many knockdowns would Zach get? I lost track at 10... Steelers sure know what a great CENTER looks like. Mike Webster would be proud of Zach's debut." -- Brian Baldinger, NFL Network.

Speaking of Webster, that's the comparison Steelers radio analyst and former guard Craig Wolfley would like to make. He's understandably hesitant.
"I hate to put it out there because it's way too early," said Wolfley, "but you can't help the comparisons that run in your gourd. When I see Zach, he's got that finishing attitude that Mike Webster always had. I mean, Mike wanted to finish a guy and it was mortal combat from the get-go. He also was very much in control directing traffic down there. You can see that Zach is very fluent and speaks the language of both the front-side/back-side cut-offs and pass protection. He's got it all down there. But what I love about it is just the way he's explosive and is goofy-wrestler strong in so many areas. That really is remarkable. I gotta give it to the young man. I've tried to hold back some of the praise because he's rather remarkable in what he's doing, and I just got off a call with the great Dermontti Dawson and he's got some explosiveness like Dermontti Dawson as well.

"We'll see. I want to just wait and watch, but when you see what he did to Grady Jarrett, when you watch what he did to the Chargers' nose tackle; gadzooks! He took him off the ball nine yards by himself. Who does that? You don't see that from centers."

Baldinger comes out with a highlight package of Frazier every week on Twitter. And after Week 3, Baldinger nicknamed him "Matt" Frazier because he's taking so many to the mat.

"I prefer Morgantown Mauler because he'd rather throw ya than know ya," Wolfley said. "You can see it as he's finishing blocks, because when he gets a guy going, he will actually rotate and throw a guy. Just watching his power and ability to get 320-pounders going in another direction is just amazing.

Needless to say, it was an absolutely glowing profile. His teammates could not say enough good things about him. Morgantown Mauler, I like the sound of that.

FCC expedites approval of Soros purchase of 200+ radio stations ahead of election

The Federal Communications Commission expedited a decision to allow Democrat megadonor George Soros to obtain a major stake in more than 200 radio stations—a move the House Oversight Committee is investigating amid concerns of "politicization" and interference in the 2024 presidential election.

The FCC last week "adopted an order to approve Hungarian-born US investor and Democrat mega donor Soros the purchase of more than 200 radio stations in 40 markets just weeks before the presidential election," allowing the far-left kingmaker to reach more than 165 million Americans at a critical time.

The FCC expedited a required review of broadcast licenses by bypassing its standard procedures and process.

The FCC, in this case is not following its normal process for reviewing a transaction. The national security review usually takes 5 to 6 months.

WVU Release WVU Women's Soccer - Set-Piece Goals Lift WVU to Victory at ASU

TEMPE, Ariz. (Sept. 26, 2024) – Behind a pair of first half, set-piece goals, the West Virginia University women’s soccer team remained undefeated in Big 12 Conference play and earned a 2-1 victory over Arizona State at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium in Tempe, Arizona, on Thursday night.

Moving to 4-0 in league play for the first time since 2016, the Mountaineers (8-2-1, 4-0 Big 12) used corner-kick opportunities to their advantage to tally the win. Senior defender Annika Leslie took both corners and found teammates Gianna Koss and Ajanae Respass in the box for the set-piece scores. Respass scored the second goal, which was credited as the eventual game winner, her third of the season.

Playing in the Arizona heat for the first time in program history, West Virginia came out aggressively and pushed the pace against a strong Sun Devil attack. On its first corner kick of the match in the 12th minute, Leslie squared up and sent a great ball in right into the center of the box. As the ASU keeper misplayed it, Koss got a foot on it to send it in for the early WVU lead. However, Arizona State responded immediately, tying it up just seconds after the ensuing kickoff.

From there, the Mountaineer offense kept pushing, sending seven shots toward the goal and placing four of them on frame. The squad finally got a second tally on another Leslie corner kick in the 34th minute. This time it was Respass’ head that connected with the service to give West Virginia a 2-1 lead into the half.

Out of the break, WVU’s offense continued to look lethal as it took nine shots in the second half. Although the Mountaineer attack was unable to find an insurance goal, the West Virginia defense was able to hold ASU to just one shot in the second half, which was saved by redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Smith to give WVU the impressive road victory.

In the final box score, West Virginia dominated every category, including 19-5 in shots and 8-3 in shots on goal. The Mountaineers took 11 corner kicks, compared to just two for the Sun Devils. In addition to Koss’ and Respass’ goals, sophomore forward Jordyn Wilson also led the way with four shots on the night.

Of note, Leslie became the third different Mountaineer to tally two assists in a match this season, as she is now tied for second on the team with three on the year. In the first-ever meeting between the two teams, WVU moves to 1-0 against the Sun Devils.

Next up, West Virginia caps its two-game swing through Arizona on Sunday, Sept. 29, when it travels to Tucson to take on the Wildcats. Kickoff at Arizona’s Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium is tabbed for 2:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. MST.
