College football is a strange sport...

First off, yes we should have won at UH...we are better than them but playing on the road is difficult. Pitt is 1-4 and upset #14 Louisville tonight. Pitt was winless in the ACC and 1-4 overall. UL beat Notre Dame soundly last week...that same ND team that is soundly beating #10 USC right now.

We will know so much more about our team next Saturday. Beat Okie State and we can still have a very good season...lose and it could get very ugly.

Perhaps we just enjoy the ride.

NSFW Lets be Realistic

At the beginning of the season 70% of us would have been happy with a 7-5 record, 85% of us would have been very happy with an 8-4 record and 95% of us would have been thrilled with a 9-3 record. West Virginia has neither the financial support nor the national following that the top 10 teams have. If we can just get in the bottom half of the top 20 we will have had a great season.

#1 WVU Downs #4 Ole Miss

The No. 1-ranked West Virginia University rifle team opened the road portion of its 2023-24 season with a 4749-4730 win over No. 4 Ole Miss on Saturday at the Patricia C. Lamar Army National Guard Readiness Center.

The Mountaineers claimed both disciplines in the match, winning smallbore with a score of 2365-2356 and air rifle 2384-2374. WVU is now 21-3 all-time against the Rebels.

For smallbore and air rifle, fifth-year seniors Mary Tucker and Malori Brown, seniors Matt Sanchez and Molly McGhin and Freshman Griffin Lake counted towards WVU’s total team score.

Tucker posted the highest aggregate score, finishing at 1189. She took second in smallbore after firing a 592 while taking fourth in air rifle with a 597.

Sanchez finished just off the pace with an 1188 in second place. He opened his day with a 590 in smallbore before turning in a tie for the highest mark in air rifle with a 598.

Lake and McGhin finished in a tie for third place after posting matching 1186 totals. Lake managed the best mark in smallbore, setting a new career-high at 595. He added a score of 591 in air rifle. McGhin joined Sanchez with a top mark of 598 in air rifle while adding a 588 in smallbore.

Brown finished her day with an 1166, posting marks of 582 in smallbore and 584 in air rifle.

Junior Natalie Perrin 1183 (585 SB – 598 AR), senior Tal Engler 1181 (590 SB – 591 AR), freshman Maximus Duncan 1171 (580 SB – 591 AR) and senior Becca Lamb 1169 (580 SB – 589 AR) also competed at the event.

Sanchez and Perrin also produced career highs at the event. Sanchez hit his mark in smallbore while Perrin managed hers in air rifle. Perrin’s mark in air rifle was tied for the best in the field, matching the score of teammates Sanchez and McGhin.

Next up, WVU stays on the road when they square off with Memphis on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Somehow Boise St just did both a Neal AND a Deion…

Boise St still up 30-10 during a timeout with 4:07 left, but Colorado St driving.

Rams get the first TD on next play with 4:01 left, onside and get another, then fail on the second onside. Boise can’t move ball, but runs clock down to :33 left. Rams hit one long pass to put them inside Bronco territory and spike with :06 left.

Hail Mary is batted by DBs down toward ground, but an underneath WR catches it just before it hits ground. Colorado St gets hit with unsportsmanlike conduct for celebrating, and has to snap the PAT from back at the 18. Ram kicker calmly makes the 35-yd PAT for a 31-30 miracle victory. First ever for Colorado St over Boise St.

Pick'M Week 7

Calling @3xWVUenginEER. Your Mountaineers are 4-1 with 4 of seven remaining games against teams that were G5 programs last year. Thursday's game against Houston gives WVU an excellent chance to get to 5-1. While I don't trust the climb, I believe we have quit banging our chin on the ladder rungs as we fall. We are playing physical and disciplined. Have they done enough to get you back in? I would gladly defer to your selections.

Important game for WVU. Frist game this season with one of the newcomers from G5 and our friend HCDH. Win and we are 5-1. 24 games on the slate this week. First game is your Mountaineers, Thur 7:00PM. Tie breaker total points scored in WVU vs Houston.

RECRUITING UPDATE Something I've been tracking

West Virginia QB commit Khalil Wilkins was ruled ineligible to play for his new high school after transferring in last spring. It's a really strange case because he's been there since the end of last school year and was already playing this year when they ruled him out. The case is currently being appealed. I haven't heard anything new in the last couple of days.

More evidence emerges Biden gang was lying about his document scandal.

More evidence emerges Biden gang was lying about his document scandal.

“The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating President Biden’s mishandling of highly classified documents. The Committee has obtained information that contradicts important details from the White House’s and President Biden’s personal attorney’s statements about the discovery of documents at Penn Biden Center, including the location and security of the classified documents. The Committee has also learned that one of your predecessors as White House Counsel, Ms. Dana Remus, and other White House employees were central figures in the early stages of coordinating the organizing, moving, and removing of boxes that were later found to contain classified materials,” wrote Chairman Comer.

In January 2023, President Biden’s personal attorney, Bob Bauer, released a statement that included a timeline of events that began on November 2, 2022, with the unexpected discovery of Obama-Biden records at Penn Biden Center. The House Oversight Committee has learned, however, that the real timeline began in 2021. President Biden used significant federal resources, including five White House employees and a Department of Defense employee, to access and secure items at the Penn Biden Center.

President Biden’s timeline was incomplete and misleading. It omitted months of communications, planning, and coordinating among multiple White House officials, Ms. [Kathy] Chung, Penn Biden Center employees, and President Biden’s personal attorneys to retrieve the boxes containing classified materials. The timeline also omitted multiple visits from at least five White House employees, including Dana Remus, Anthony Bernal, Ashley Williams, Annie Tomasini, and an unknown staffer. There is no reasonable explanation as to why this many White House employees and lawyers were so concerned with retrieving boxes they believed only contained personal documents and materials,” continued Chairman Comer.

“The Committee believes the White House can provide important insight regarding the discrepancies between the official accounts released by the White House and President Biden’s attorney, and the explanations we have received through multiple transcribed interviews regarding the classified documents.”
