Democrats just do not understand that it is THEY who created President Donald Trump.

Barack Obama famously promised to "fundamentally transform" the USA, and that he did in his neo-Marxist weaponization of the federal government.

Now we are fundamentally un-transforming it.

If the Dems had just ruled from the middle we'd probably be talking about President Jeb Bush winding up his second term right about now.

APPALACHIAN POWER EXPLORES SMALL MODULAR REACTORS TO MEET FUTURE ENERGY DEMAND IN VIRGINIA

November 14, 2024

ROANOKE, Va., Nov. 14, 2024 – In a major step toward securing Virginia’s reliable energy future, Appalachian Power announces plans to bring Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) to Virginia. Appalachian Power representatives identified a potential site for an SMR project on company-owned Joshua Falls property in Campbell County, Virginia, and plan to begin the Early Site Permit Application process. This site provides access to existing electrical infrastructure that is necessary for a generation project. The site includes a 765 kilovolt substation and nearby roadways can support moving the necessary equipment onsite.

This is a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to provide reliable and clean energy to its customers. SMR technology offers tremendous potential to provide safe, reliable and clean energy 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The relatively small footprint allows SMRs to be constructed in areas that were not previously feasible for nuclear energy generation. SMR sites can also be scaled to match the energy needs of the state. A single SMR can generate up to 500 megawatts (MW) of clean energy.

“SMR technology is a key component to providing perfect power to our customers. Appalachian Power and AEP are committed to working with our states to develop energy solutions that align with state policy goals and reliably serve our customers,” said Bill Fehrman, AEP president and chief executive officer.

"Advanced nuclear power is at the heart of Virginia's All-American, All-of-the Above Energy Plan; a plan that prioritizes abundant, reliable, affordable, and increasingly clean power to fuel our thriving and growing economy. I am grateful that Appalachian Power is taking this next step to support Virginia's nuclear future." said Governor Glenn Youngkin.

“Appalachian Power is committed to generating clean, always-on power to meet Virginia's future demand. We are grateful to the Virginia General Assembly and Governor Youngkin for embracing SMR technology – this announcement would not have been possible without their forward-thinking support,” said Aaron Walker, Appalachian Power president and chief operating officer.

The company plans to file an application with the Virginia State Corporation Commission in spring 2025. In addition, Appalachian Power plans to apply for part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s $900 million grant program to accelerate the deployment of SMRs and help reduce customer costs.

Appalachian Power will work closely with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, state and local agencies and other stakeholders to educate the community about the benefits of SMRs while gathering feedback.

A community open house will be hosted on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance where experts and company representatives will be available to answer questions about the project. There is no formal presentation, so attendees may come and go any time during the 2-hour event to talk to project representatives and learn about the future of SMRs.

Residents who cannot attend the open house or want to learn more in advance of the public meeting can visit the project website at AppalachianPower.com/SMR.

WVSPORTS.COM West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries press conference summary

--West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries said that anytime you're going into your first road game and it's a rivalry game against a good opponent like Pitt you're going to get really tested. You can't prepare for it until you're in that environment and you have to see how you'll respond.

--DeVries believes his team has been preparing hard and now you'll see how you respond in different environments. The team is excited to play and it's a fun game when there are rivalries like this.

--It doesn't take much for the team to figure out this is an important game for both fan bases and these type of games make college sports what they are with contests both fan bases enjoy. It's a big game for both of the fan bases.

--DeVries said it's certainly a big test and it's a road game. They're going to figure a lot of things out in those 40 minutes Friday and determine what they're ready for and prepared for. The team is ready to play and is excited for the challenge.

--DeVries said Drake and Northern Iowa were rivals when he was there and they got that type of game in league play. Those type of games are fun for everybody to be a part of and there is a lot that goes into that from an emotion standpoint from both sides.

--DeVries thinks the Pitt series is a great game. They are only an hour a part and it's a big test for both teams and he would like to see them continue it as much as possible.

--As a player, Northern Iowa wasn't great but as a coach they had a lot more entertaining games with Drake. There is a different energy level when you play in rivalry games and the two teams are going to compete and try to win but you can feel a different vibe in the arena.

--Pittsburgh is very balanced and presents a lot of problems along with different ways they can come at you and challenge a defense. They know how to play with each other and understand who they are and they've done a good job of playing like they've been together a long time. They are playing at a high level and are connected on the defensive end.

--DeVries said they are pretty happy with the guys they will sign in recruiting and the interest level across the country in recruiting. They are excited what that looks like in the future moving forward as well. They will be able to comment more on that in the next few days as they get the signatures and papers back on the prospects that have signed.

--DeVries said it's a significant game for the teams and the fanbases. Both teams are going to come and play as hard as they can to try to win this game and there is some added importance to it for sure.

--DeVries said he doesn't know Jeff Capel well just from afar but he has done a really good job. He's done a good job and has an identity to what they do on offense and they play to their strengths. They know exactly what they're going to get and it's up to you to stop them.

--You never know how it will play out both both teams want to get out and run. Pittsburgh is very aggressive in transition and has multiple guys that can put pressure on the rim. Their two point field goal percentage is largely because they are putting pressure on the rim and they get kick out threes. What makes them so challenging to stop is they are so balanced with the ways that they can hurt you.

--There were a few Creighton fans that rooted for Nebraska football. Basketball you're a Creighton fan or a Nebraska fan and that's the way they approached it. It was pretty typical of both bases, if you're a Creighton basketball fan you were cheering hard for them and vice versa if you were a Nebraska fan.

--When you're around you understand rivalries as coaches and players, they've all played in them and understand what they mean.

--Jayden Stone is still day to day at this point.

GG or Nicco?

Nicco has done a nice job in relief and is now undefeated as a starter for us. But, I would still go back to GG if he is ready to go next week. You can argue who throws the better ball, but I just think that extra element of speed that Greene gives us in the run game is a must needed edge.

With that said, I like Nicco and think he will be a good starter for us next year. But I go back to Greene for the balance of this year. He's been a great teammate and a pretty solid player....I think he deserves to finish the season for us. What say you guys?
