Seven schools to join Division II
The division will grow to 307 members this fall

Division II will grow to 307 members this fall when it welcomes seven new schools to its membership.
The Division II Membership Committee met this week in Indianapolis to determine the fate of schools seeking to become Division II members. Schools must complete a three-year membership process before becoming active and eligible for championship competition.
The following schools were approved to become active Division II members in September: Daemen College, Fresno Pacific University, Lee University, Lubbock Christian University, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma Christian University and The University of Virginia’s College at Wise.
In addition to taking action on those seven schools, the committee also accepted two schools into the process and voted on the progress of 11 other schools already working toward full membership.
Four schools were approved to enter the third year of the membership process. They are Holy Names University, Mississippi College, Rogers State University and Southern Wesleyan University.
The committee agreed to require Spring Hill College to repeat the second year of the membership process.
The committee also approved six schools to advance to year two. They are California State University, San Marcos, Concordia University Irvine, Concordia University Portland, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Florida), Emmanuel College (Georgia) and Oklahoma Baptist University.
Finally, two schools that applied for Division II membership, Auburn University at Montgomery and Westminster College (Utah), were accepted and will begin the three-year membership process this fall.
The Division II Management Council will review all membership decisions at its meeting July 27-28 in Indianapolis. If the decisions are approved, the changes will take effect Sept. 1.
