Burning Down the Couch Chili

Won my office Chili Cook-off for two straight years with this recipe:







1.5 lb ground beef (1.5)


2 onions , diced (


1 green pepper , diced


1 whole jalapeno , finely chopped


21 ounce can Mexican-style tomatoes (like Rotel)


3 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce


2 tablespoons cumin


2 tablespoons chili powder


1 teaspoon salt


3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper


½ teaspoon paprika


1 (14 ounce) can kidney beans , drained and rinsed (1 can)


1 (14 ounce) can black beans , drained and rinsed (1 can)


1 1/2 cup water


½ cup Brown Sugar





Toppings: Sour cream , cheddar cheese , green onion


Cook ground meat and drain excess grease


Add onions and peppers in and cook a little longer


Add tomatoes, seasonings, and water, bring to a boil.


Left overnight in FridgeAdd beans, cover and simmer 1-2 hours in crock pot.
